(LifeSiteNews) — Maison DesChamps, who is known as the “Pro-life Spiderman,” was reportedly recently sentenced to more than 40 days in prison for climbing the Las Vegas Sphere in 2024 to raise money for a homeless pregnant woman, per a report.

The “Pro-Life Spiderman” was sentenced to 45 days in prison and fined $75,000 for illegally climbing the Las Vegas Sphere arena in February 2024, per a LiveAction report. DesChamps had climbed the Sphere, the largest spherical structure in the world, to raise funds for a 37-year-old homeless pregnant woman named Isabel in order to help her choose life for her unborn child.

The Pro-Life Spiderman is known for climbing large buildings like the Las Vegas Sphere across the country in order to raise awareness for the unborn and has even partnered with Let Them Live to support women in crisis pregnancies and encourage them to choose life.

Making his prison sentence particularly devastating is the fact that DesChamps’ wife, Torah, is currently seven months’ pregnant. After the sentencing, a petition was launched to help Torah pay the bills while DesChamps is incarcerated, which has already raised $19,785 as of this writing, more than half of its $30,000 goal.

Conservative activist James O’Keefe slammed the sentencing in an X post, noted his wife’s pregnancy, and called the Pro-life Spiderman a “modern-day Paul the Apostle.” O’Keefe further emphasized that free-solo climber Alex Honnold was recently paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by Netflix to climb the Sphere with praise and no prison time.

After his climb in 2024 that was reportedly successful in saving Isabel’s baby, police responded to the scene and DesChamps was forced to exit through the top of the Las Vegas Sphere. He was arrested and charged with destroying property greater than $5,000, conspiracy to destroy property, and disregarding the safety of persons or property. Three people, including a married couple who filmed the climb and passed out fliers, were also arrested.

Staff of the Sphere claimed that the 24-year-old’s stunt cost about $100,000 in damage after he allegedly damaged some of the LED lights on the building’s exterior, according to a Metropolitan Police report.

DesChamps later reportedly agreed to plead guilty to charges of destroying property of another greater than $5,000 and conspiracy to destroy private property in exchange for the dismissal of the charges against the other three individuals.

After the sentencing, a petition was launched to help Torah pay the bills while DesChamps is incarcerated, which has already raised $19,785 as of this writing, more than half of its $30,000 goal.
