we live in a fucked up world today in which governments & corporations have broken the social contract with the people & any assumption of ethical or moral behavior merely because they have the technology to allow them to do it without being seen.

this will not change until we the people start suing these corporations & governments for things like stalking & violation to the right to be protected against self incriminating evidence & declaring that your digital doorway is the same as your physical doorway & should be investigated & carry the same penalties for violators & law enforcement should have to obtain information by court order from the recipient if they have reasonable cause, not ISP’s or service providers to access your information to use against you if you have opted to remain silent in the event of a specific charge.

thus they would have to have evidence or a complaint of a crime to investigate not simply search your private communications for evidence of a possible crime to investigate.

so until that time it is always best policy to keep governments & corporations in the dark as much as possible as we know from experience that regardless if you have something to hide or not, if you allow them to see eventually what they see will be used against you in one way or another to modify your behavior or habits to conform to their desires & away from those of a free society with the one fundamental law being that you can do whatever you want as long as you do not harm others, which the left has polluted into meaning they have the right to engage in pre-crime prevention (preventing you from doing anything they imagine could possibly cause harm)

as oppose to having strict equally enforced penalties for those things our founding principals deemed as unacceptable.
