Satanic Temple holds ‘revival’ event with drag show, ‘sinful testimonies’ – LifeSite
BALTIMORE (LifeSiteNews) — The far-left Satanic Temple (TST) is kicking off a two-day “Satanic Revival” event in Baltimore, Maryland, on Friday, sparking calls to protest from Christian groups.
“Our first national event since SatanCon 2023, the Satanic Revival will focus on being together in community, touting past accomplishments, and building energy toward future goals,” TST announced. “Featuring musical performances by Satanic Planet, Pentagram String Band, Clouds Taste Satanic, and presentations by TST co-founder Lucien Greaves, Campaign Directors, and many more, the revival will be a joyful celebration of Satanic values, knowledge, and pleasure.”
Spanning May 1 to May 2 at Baltimore’s Mobtown Ballroom, the event schedule features presentations on the “path to Satanic ministry,” a “Ceremony of Infernal Pride” to honor “Satanic Good Works,” a drag show, “Satanism and the Trans Experience,” “Sinful Testimonies” from the “Satanic Pulpit,” the “Study of Satanic Religion,” and more.
In response, several Christian organizations are calling the faithful to protest the event, including by reaching out to express disapproval to the Mobtown Ballroom’s owners.
“Furthermore, all of the event’s attendees are required to surrender their souls to Satan,” says the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, & Property (American TFP). “We need to let them know that it is unacceptable for any venue to invite the Evil One under its roof. No words can describe how evil this is. Satan has no place in the public square—you and I both know that. And that is why taking action is not optional.”
“And we have reason to be hopeful,” adds the TFP campaign Return to Order. “After our protest against SatanCon in 2023, SatanCon was canceled in the following years. It’s our duty to pray and act, and God will help us achieve another resounding victory.”
At the Christian Post, Kris Kubal argues the revival and other radical events coinciding with planning to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary marks a societal crossroads.
“Will [the 250th anniversary] be marked by humility, repentance, and rededication to God? Or will it be overshadowed by rebellion, confusion, and competing ideologies that pull us further from truth?” he asks. “The answer will not be decided solely in Washington, D.C. It will be decided in churches, in homes, in communities — and in the hearts of individuals who choose whether to stand, pray, and act. I encourage you to actively participate in spiritually fighting for our nation. In this monumental year, the forces of darkness are doing all they can to steer America off our Judeo-Christian path. It’s up to us as believers in Christ to fight that spiritual battle.”
TST is a radical secular-leftist group that purports to embrace Satan’s name as a “symbol of the Eternal Rebel in opposition to arbitrary authority” while not believing that God, the devil, or other supernatural concepts literally exist (though it does promote satanic rituals). It is known for agitating for an array of leftist causes, including unsuccessful pro-abortion lawsuits and promotion of LGBT “pride,” with the satanic branding helping draw publicity to its antics via shock value.
During the first Trump administration, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recognized TST as a “church,” granting it tax-exempt status and strengthening its claims for religious accommodation in public spaces.
