LifeSiteNews is the world’s most famous English-language pro-life online newspaper. We are on a mission to tell the truth about God and His plan for humanity while exposing evil in the world. We educate the public on key issues threatening Christian values and assist them in living faithful lives and raising happy children in a now-hostile culture. We promote life, faith, family, and freedom by opposing abortion, euthanasia, genocide, gender ideology, and threats to marriage and religious liberties. This work is donor-supported to ensure uncensored reporting faithful to Catholic tradition.

We are seeking a talented writer, preferably living in either Toronto or the Ottawa Valley, to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to pro-life beliefs and Catholic doctrine as well as excellent reading and communication skills. He or she must have the ability to produce compelling, well-researched content for our online platform. He or she must also have contacts within the Canadian pro-life community.

Responsibilities:

• Keep a finger to the pulse of daily Canadian news and offer pitches when the work day begins.
• Write Canadian news stories pertaining to faith, family, freedom and the right to life.
• Interview Canadian newsmakers and experts to add authority to news stories.
• Collaborate with editors to refine and polish articles for publication.
• Take part in daily assignment calls and annual meetings.
• Travel within Ontario to meet with other staffers or cover newsworthy events.

Qualifications:

• Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio of published work (journalism, blogging, or similar).
• Deep understanding of Catholic teachings and a commitment to pro-life values.
• Knowledge of Canadian social, political, and cultural landscapes, particularly as they relate to pro-life issues.
• Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality content under tight schedules.
• Experience in journalism or related fields (preferred but not mandatory).
• Familiarity with digital media.
• Canadian residency preferred.
• French or foreign language skills an asset.
