OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — The Liberal government has given $4 million taxpayer dollars to fund research into expanding abortion to “2SLGBTQI+” individuals, homeless people, youth, and other “underserved” groups.
Late last month, the Liberal government awarded over $4.3 million in funding to researchers at the UBC Faculty of Medicine to promote abortion to minorities, as part of over $13 million in funding for pro-abortion groups under the Sexual and Reproductive Health Fund.
“Our team, and our partner organizations engaged in this work across Canada, are honoured and delighted to have this opportunity,” said principal investigator Dr. Wendy Norman.
“This award will advance equitable access to respectful high-quality [so-called] abortion care that is welcoming and appropriate for people from all cultures and identity groups,” she continued. “Health Canada’s funding has been essential to support CART [the UBC’s Contraception and Abortion Research Team] to convene national primary care health professional organizations to work in concert advancing patient care.”
According to UBC Medicine, the taxpayer dollars will fund research “to address barriers to abortion access for underserved populations.” The group promised it would push abortion on “minority and marginalized groups,” including migrants, Indigenous and other racial minorities, and disabled women.
Unfortunately, the abortion movement’s targeting of vulnerable women is not new as its roots are fundamentally eugenic, with abortion facilities being known for specifically targeting minority groups.
In fact, in 2017, a Liberal foreign minister admitted that abortion is “a tool to end poverty.” The same year, the Liberal government sent $241.5 million to supply and promote contraception and abortion in developing nations — particularly in Africa — as part of their commitment to securing global access to “sexual and reproductive health and rights.”
Similarly in 2020, Trudeau announced new funding of $8.9 million to international abortion organizations as part of its commitment to exporting abortion to developing countries, most of which are inhabited by non-Whites.
In the past five years, Liberals have spent unprecedented amounts of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, both in Canada and overseas.
Health Canada’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Fund was established in the 2021 budget with an initial amount of $45 million to expand abortion and contraception for people in Canada who “face the greatest barriers to access,” with an additional $36 million added to the 2023 budget.
Under former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the Liberals led the most pro-abortion government in Canadian history, spending more than $1 billion since 2020 to promote abortion and contraception at home and abroad.
According to Campaign Life Coalition, abortion has killed over four million preborn babies in Canada since its legalization in 1969, which is roughly equivalent to the population of Alberta.
