(LifeSiteNews) — Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson took a strong stand for life recently during a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event at Indiana University.

A student asked Carlson about the “imposition” of “Christian values” on society, repeating the false claim that “separation of church and state” is in the Constitution.

“It’s not actually a secular country,” Carlson said when questioned during the event Tuesday night.

During the lengthy exchange, Carlson frequently criticized abortion.

“Abortion is murder, obviously, and everyone knows that,” Carlson said to cheers at the public university in Bloomington.

“And people are so into it because it’s the same ritual that every civilization, every civilization, ever been studied, has engaged in, which is human sacrifice,” Carlson said.

“Abortion isn’t ritualistic,” the student questioner claimed.

“Are you joking? They had an abortion truck outside the Democratic Convention,” Carlson said. In 2024, Planned Parenthood set up a mobile van several blocks from the Democratic National Convention, offering abortions and vasectomies. It was not directly tied to the DNC but was set up to target attendees at the conference in Chicago.

The student also said that people use religion to argue against so-called “LGBTQ rights” and “trans rights” in addition to abortion.

“It’s so obviously a child sacrifice rite,” Carlson said. He continued to criticize the “wicked, gleeful enthusiasm” for abortion, referencing the “shout your abortion” movement.

He said his views have changed on the “bodily autonomy” argument, particularly after seeing the hypocrisy of COVID jab mandates.

Abortion, he said, is about the “thrill that people derive from killing.”

“I’ve seen it when people plan wars,” saying people get a “thrill” and “high” from “extinguishing life,” referencing videos of drone strikes as well. People feel this way because it “makes them God.”

“And that’s the most evil thing there is,” he said.

“Killing makes people feel powerful. Killing your own child makes you feel (power),” he said.

During the exchange, Carlson also defended the importance of Christian views of justice being embedded in our laws and made the point that slavery was eliminated in England because of Christianity.

Carlson has recently taken to defending the rights of the preborn in a vigorous manner.

During an interview with Alex Jones, he also said that abortion is tantamount to human sacrifice, as LifeSiteNews reported.

He said abortion is done “for the sake of abortion,” meaning it is “human sacrifice.”
