BREAKING: Portland Antifa member ‘Isabel Araujo’ sentenced to one day of community service; threatens journalist outside courthouse
A violent trans Antifa member threatened our reporter in Portland for reporting on his sentencing.
PORTLAND, ORE. — A violent Portland trans Antifa member has been sentenced to only 24 hours of community service and probation after assaulting a woman.
Isabel Rosa Araujo, born Philip Haskins-Delici and known by several aliases, was convicted last week of attempted assault and unlawful use of mace for attacking Sorbeah al-Mosa in March 2024.
At the sentencing in Multnomah County Circuit Court, the court barred photography. Both parties stated their pronouns, in line with a request from prior hearings by Judge Adrian Lee Brown.
“I left the house today and left my phone next to my stuffed animals since I believe I may be heading to jail,” Araujo told the judge before sentencing. He wore all black and a keffiyeh scarf around his neck.
In addition to community service, Araujo received a seven-day suspended jail sentence and one year of probation. His attorney, Justice Kelley, argued his client should be allowed to carry weapons for self-defense during probation, citing media coverage and “misgendering” from journalist Andy Ngo as a danger to Araujo. The judge only barred him from carrying mace and similar irritants, suggesting he can carry other weapons. Araujo is also prohibited from contacting the victim.
“One side decided to use violence against the other, which is completely unacceptable,” prosecutor Noah Berg said.
The female victim did not attend the sentencing but sent The Post Millennial the statement she provided to the court: “I have reason to believe this person will attack me again if given the chance. I want to be able to attend a protest and counter-protest safely. I don’t want to be concerned about whether I might see or run into this person in the near future.
At trial, jurors saw video evidence showing Araujo, dressed in black tactical gear, rushing at al-Mosa and spraying her with pepper spray after she set her copy of the Quran on fire in a bowl. Araujo identifies as “Latinx” and Muslim, and his social media posts show explicit support for Hamas and Hezbollah.
Outside the courthouse, Araujo walked with fellow transgender activist Heather-Lynne Van Wilde before confronting and shouting at Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt.
“Khaybar Khaybar ya yahud,” Araujo shouted, using an Arabic chant that refers to a historic Islamic tradition in which Muslim forces killed Jewish tribes in the 7th century.
Araujo then screamed, “F*ck Israel” six times and angrily walked up to the reporter and cursed her out. “F*ck you! You are a propagandist for Andy Ngo, a f*cking Nazi! A Zionist Nazi! An Israel boot-licking Nazi!” He also told her to kill herself before being led away by his lawyer.
Araujo, originally from Westville, New Jersey, adopted the alias “Aspen” after becoming active in Antifa in Portland. He was previously known as “Ahuviya Harel.” Despite a history of threats and alleged violence, this is his first known conviction in Oregon.
