“Their stories were censored and suppressed like maybe almost never before, so that the politicians could open our borders and allow our nation to be invaded.”

President Donald Trump has signed a declaration to designate February 22 as “National Angel Family Day,” as he invited the families of victims of illegal immigrant crime to the White House on Monday. The mother of Laken Riley, the mother of murdered Marine veteran Javier Vega, as well as others, spoke about their experience with criminal illegal immigrants taking the lives of their loved ones.
“We’re gathered here today for a truly solemn occasion. Throughout this hall, I am joined by heartbroken Americans who have lost parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, and treasured loved ones to the scourge of illegal immigration let in by the past administration. Millions and millions of people from jails. Millions and millions of people from countries that we don’t want to know about,” Trump said.
Trump said that 11,888 murderers were allowed into the US by the Biden administration. He added that the media has ignored the stories of the angel families who have lost their loved ones. “Everyone in this room not only suffered an infinite loss; they were the victims of politicians who put the comfort of foreign criminals before the safety of American citizens and American patriots,” he added.
“Their stories were censored and suppressed like maybe almost never before, so that the politicians could open our borders and allow our nation to be invaded,” he said.
Before signing the proclamation, Trump had a number of angel families speak about how they have lost loved ones to the crimes of illegal immigrants who were allowed into the country by the Biden administration.
Allyson Phillips, the mother of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, who was murdered by illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra while she was out for a jog, took to the podium and said, “If you’ve lived that nightmare that we have lived, you understand the importance of the job that [Trump] is doing in securing our nation and fighting for our families, because this could be any family.”
Steve Ronnebeck, whose son was shot and killed by an illegal immigrant while working in a convenience store in Arizona, said, “President Trump talked about Grant even before he was elected in 2016 — and finally, we had hope.”
He said that all these deaths could have been prevented, and then added, “Today, we are finally going to see that somebody’s going to remember all of our loved ones.”
Other angel family members spoke at the signing, including Jody Jones, whose brother, Rockey, was shot and killed by a criminal illegal immigrant; Laura Wilkerson, whose son Joshua was beaten and strangled to death by a criminal illegal immigrant; and Angel Mom Marie Vega, whose son Javier Vega, Jr was murdered by a criminal illegal immigrant.
