Trump endorses Steve Hilton for California governor
“He is a truly fine man, one who has watched as this once great State has gone to Hell. Gavin Newscum and the Democrats have done an absolutely horrendous job.”
President Donald Trump has endorsed California gubernatorial candidate, Steve Hilton, who is running as a Republican in the state. Hilton is running up against a crowded field in the primary.
Trump posted to Truth Social, “I have known and respected Steve Hilton, who is running for Governor of California, for many years. He is a truly fine man, one who has watched as this once great State has gone to Hell. Gavin Newscum and the Democrats have done an absolutely horrendous job. People are fleeing, crime is increasing, and Taxes are the highest of any State in the Country, maybe the World.”

“Steve can turn it around, before it is too late, and, as President, I will help him to do so! With Federchal help, and a Great Governor, like Steve Hilton, California can be better than ever before! Steve Hilton has my COMPLETE & TOTAL ENDORSEMENT. He will be a GREAT Governor and, importantly, WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!!!” Trump added.
Hilton is running in a crowded field in the California primary, set for June 2, in which both Republicans and Democrats run against each other. The two top candidates from that primary will advance to the general election, even if they are both from the same party. The Democrats seeking the office in California include Rep. Eric Swalwell, former Biden-appointed Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becera, and former LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco is also running as a Republican. Hilton became a US citizen in 2021 after moving to California in 2012. He was born in Britain to Hungarian refugee parents. He is a conservative commentator on Fox News and notably does not use a smart phone. Instead, he opts for a flip phone and believes that no one under the age of 16 should be using smart phones.
