Trump calls out nations for recognizing Palestinian ‘state’ while Hamas still holds 20 hostages and 38 dead
President Donald Trump slammed into countries that have officially recognized a Palestinian state as he was addressing international leaders at the United Nations on Tuesday. France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other Western nations have moved to officially recognize a Palestinian state.
“As everyone knows, I have also been deeply engaged in seeking a ceasefire in Gaza. Have to get that done. Have to get it done. Unfortunately, Hamas has repeatedly rejected reasonable offers to make peace. We can’t forget October 7, can we. Now as if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body is seeking to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state.”
“The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists for their atrocities. This would be a reward for these horrible atrocities, including October 7. Even while they refuse to release the hostages or accept a ceasefire,” Trump added, then saying that the conflict should have been “solved so long ago.”
“Instead of giving in to Hamas’s ransom demands, those who want peace should be united with one message: ‘Release the hostages now.’ Just release the hostages now.”
“We have got to come together, and we will come together to get it done. We have to stop the war in Gaza immediately. We have to stop it. To get it done, we have to negotiate immediately. Have to negotiate peace. We got to get the hostages back. We want all 20 back. We don’t want to do four,” Trump added.
“We want them all back. And we want the, actually, 38 dead bodies back to whose parents came to me and they want them back. And they want them back very quickly,” Trump added.
The address from Trump touched many points, and he slammed the United Nations for not doing more to stop wars in the world. He also addressed illegal immigration and energy around the world.
In a post to Truth Social after the address, he said, “It was a great honor to speak before the United Nations. I believe the speech was very well received. It focused very much on energy and migration/immigration. I have been talking about this for a long period of time and this Forum, was the absolute best from the standpoint of making these two important statements.”
“I hope everybody gets to watch it! The teleprompter was broken and the escalator came to a sudden halt as we were riding up to the podium, but both of those events probably made the speech more interesting than it would have been otherwise. It is always an honor to speak at the United Nations, even if, their equipment is somewhat faulty. Make America Great Again!” he added.
