Ro Khanna admits Dems will ‘absolutely’ impeach Trump if they retake the House
“The Democrats will impeach him once we take back the House, and should impeach him for all the things he’s done. And depending on the Senate, he may face conviction.”
In a recent interview, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) said that if his party retakes the House following the 2026 midterms, President Donald Trump will “absolutely” face another impeachment effort. Trump was impeached by the chamber twice in his first term.
Khanna was asked if there was a “better than even chance Donald Trump gets impeached again” if the Democrats come out victorious in the upcoming elections, to which he said, “Absolutely.”
“He should be impeached now,” he continued. “I mean, he’s taken us into a disastrous war, threatening war crimes in Iran … and the Democrats will impeach him once we take back the House, and should impeach him for all the things he’s done. And depending on the Senate, he may face conviction if we get to 60.”
Trump had warned of such a possibility in January, telling members of the Republican Party at the House GOP Member Retreat, “You gotta win the midterms, because if we don’t win the midterms, it’s just going to be, I mean, they’ll find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached. We don’t impeach them, you know why? Because they’re meaner than we are. We should have impeached Joe Biden for 100 different things.”
He later said of the Democrats, “We have great, solid, common-sense policy. They have horrendous policy. What they do is they stick together. They never have a no vote. They impeached me. I never knew I was going to be impeached. I get a phone call, ‘you just got impeached.’ I said, ‘What does that mean?’ It took them 10 minutes. They impeached the president, who did a d*mn good job. I rebuilt our military, Space Force, I got everything, I did a lot. They impeached me for nothing, twice.”
