A Meghan Markle fan is threatening to sue the Duchess of Sussex for £8million after allegedly suffering “catastrophic burns” from trying a homemade bath salt recipe featured on her Netflix series.

Robin Patrick, a diabetic from Maryland, claims she sustained severe injuries after using the same blend of salts Meghan prepared as a wellness gift on her show “With Love, Meghan”.

The mixture included Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil and lavender oil.

Patrick alleges the concoction left her with painful ulcers, blistering skin and fears of serious complications.

She is now seeking substantial damages from the Duchess, Netflix and Archewell Productions.

Patrick described experiencing “persistent burning, discomfort, and the emergence of new blister-like sores and ulcers daily” which have disrupted her daily routine.

She claims she can no longer take warm showers or wear clothing over the affected areas.

The Maryland resident lives with an autoimmune condition and a compromised immune system.

She also suffers from diabetes-related dry skin, which has heightened her concerns.

Patrick claims she followed Meghan’s instructions after seeing a clip on X, using ingredients she had at home.

Patrick told RadarOnline that she is “deeply concerned about the risk of infection, sepsis, or other complications”.

She added that “the pain feels as though it is burning from within”.

The burns reportedly remain severe and unhealed, with some areas “just sore as heck to touch”.

Patrick recounted the incident in detail, saying: “Initially, I experienced a mild tingling sensation without discomfort.”

She continued: “However, as the water level rose to cover my legs and reached my buttocks, I began to feel burning and significant discomfort in those areas.”

Patrick immediately exited the tub and later stirred the bathwater with her hand, resulting in additional burning sensations.

“That evening, while showering, I experienced intense burning as water contacted the affected areas, which had developed into ulcers,” she said.

Meghan’s lawyer, Cameron Stracher, has responded firmly to Patrick’s claims in a legal letter.

She has indicated willingness to settle “without litigation” if a financial agreement is reached.

Meghan’s lawyer, Cameron Stracher, has responded firmly to Patrick’s claims in a legal letter.

He pointed out that “the use of Epsom salts is contraindicated for individuals with diabetes except on the advice of a physician”.

Stracher argued that a duty of care requires a “foreseeable” injury.

“It was not foreseeable that you would disregard the instructions on the Epsom salt packaging in attempting to make and use your own bath salts,” he wrote.

The lawyer concluded: “For this separate reason, there can be no negligence claim against anyone involved in the production or distribution of the series.”

Patrick’s legal letter outlines claims of “emotional distress, potential post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), loss of confidence in appearance, disfigurement, shortened life expectancy, and long-term medical care”.

She is seeking a “minimum” of £60,000 for medical expenses.

Additionally, Patrick demands £8million in punitive damages to “deter similar conduct in the future”.
