This is the time and season of the year when Canadian and U.S. families get together and (usually) have a special time with immediate family and other relatives, especially with the July 1 (Canada Day) and July 4 (U.S. Independence Day) big holidays occurring this week.

The family emphasis of those two holidays and the extra vacation days often accompanying them are important for the culture and future of the respective nations.

LifeSiteNews team members live what they promote. We strongly promote a stable, married, natural family culture in every nation and striving to have and raise as many children as a couple is practically able to have. A healthy, deep faith life also has a large role in producing a joyful, productive family life.

Sadly, some are not able to have children, or only one or two when they dearly want more. We empathize with them.

This past weekend, all but one of the 8 children my wife and I were blessed with, after initially not wanting any children and me ironically having been pro-abortion and pro-population control, were at our home with their 24 children. One family with 5 additional young children could not attend.

The weekend was wonderful! We had a grand time.

In LifeSiteNews, we always cheer and congratulate engagements, weddings, pregnancy announcements and births among our team members. It’s a big deal for us. There are a lot of those throughout the year among our mostly young staff.

That is because we are ALL very committed to a culture of life and family, and to saving the lives of babies and preventing any threats from government, education and institutions to natural marriage, families and children.

We take those threats and actions personally. We report the most important developments occurring on those issues with the hope that readers will take necessary action to defend themselves and all the families and children in their lives, their community and their nation.
