Lewis Hamilton is lapping up the admiration of the Shanghai crowd. The seven-time world champion is doing his post-sprint interviewing and says after a difficult race in Melbourne, a lot of people underestimated how hard it is to acclimatise to a new team – critics have been “yapping”, he adds.

Yuki Tsunoda is being hassled by the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli for sixth place but the Racing Bulls is able to dodge the threat of the Italian teenager for another lap.
Charles Leclerc is also looking to move up a place from P5 and is hoping George Russell slips up in these final stages.

Lewis Hamilton can watch the cat and mouse game behind him between Max verstappen and Oscar Piastri. The Ferrari man is 2.4 seconds clear of the pair and heading for his first win in Scuderia red.
The front three reach Turn 10 but Piastri runs slightly wide, which hinders his chance to pounce on Verstappen. He gets another chance a few moments later and successfully nicks that second place off the defending champion on the long straight.
