   Lewis Hamilton is lapping up the admiration of the Shanghai crowd. The seven-time world champion is doing his post-sprint interviewing and says after a difficult race in Melbourne, a lot of people underestimated how hard it is to acclimatise to a new team – critics have been “yapping”, he adds.

   Lewis Hamilton outclassed everyone else with his tyre management, at the end he was over a second a lap quicker than everybody else out there pretty much, he managed that superbly.

    Yuki Tsunoda is being hassled by the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli for sixth place but the Racing Bulls is able to dodge the threat of the Italian teenager for another lap.

    Charles Leclerc is also looking to move up a place from P5 and is hoping George Russell slips up in these final stages.

    I don’t think Oscar Piastri is going to be able to overtake Max Verstappen anywhere other than into Turn 14 with the aid of DRS down the back straight.

    Lewis Hamilton can watch the cat and mouse game behind him between Max verstappen and Oscar Piastri. The Ferrari man is 2.4 seconds clear of the pair and heading for his first win in Scuderia red.

    The front three reach Turn 10 but Piastri runs slightly wide, which hinders his chance to pounce on Verstappen. He gets another chance a few moments later and successfully nicks that second place off the defending champion on the long straight.

    So far Lewis Hamilton has done a great job in controlling this race and has led every lap of this race. Max Verstappen has never really looked like he’s been threatening Lewis Hamilton for that race win.

    Oscar Piastri is hunting down the Red Bull of Max Verstappen but the Dutchman is going to be overtaken that easily. After staying in his P2 position, the four-time world champion rings the team radio to phone to say his tyres are finished.
