In June, Elon Musk has donated $15 million to President Donald Trump and the GOP despite public fights between Musk and the president over the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

On June 27, Musk made two $5 million donations to the main super PACs for House and Senate Republicans. The same day, he also sent $5 million to MAGA Inc., Trump’s super PAC, per NBC News.

The donations came after Musk accused Trump of being in the Epstein files, floating the idea for a third party in the US political system amid a back-and-forth between the tech entrepreneur and the president over the “One Big Beautiful Bill” that was passed by the House. Musk called the package “pork-filled” at the time and slammed the GOP for not making deeper spending cuts.

At the time, Musk had also left his official post as an advisor for Trump after coming on as a special government employee. During the first six months of the year, Musk has also donated over $45 million to his own super PAC, the America PAC, per NBC News. The political organization was very involved in the April 1 elections for the Wisconsin Supreme Court as well as special elections in Florida.

Since the June donations from the tech entrepreneur, Musk attacked the “One Big Beautiful Bill” when the package was getting voted on in the Senate. In early July, Musk attacked the package again, decrying the amount of spending in the bill, and also formed the “America Party” as a third-party option.

Trump blasted Musk over the move, calling him a “train wreck” in a Truth Social post. “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them. The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!” he wrote at the time.

“Republicans, on the other hand, are a smooth running ‘machine,’ that just passed the biggest Bill of its kind in the History of our Country,” Trump added, then accusing Musk of opposing the bill because it eliminated Biden-era legislation imposing an electric vehicle mandate.
