White House aide Sebastian Gorka has lashed out at left-wing MPs and peers revolting against Donald Trump’s UK state visit.

A group has been put together by Lord Foulkes of Cumnock, formerly a minister in Tony Blair’s government, to lobby against Trump’s address to both Houses of Parliament.

Lord Foulkes told Times Radio: “He is not a respecter of democracy, he does not respect the rule of law and we feel it would be inappropriate for him to address parliament.”

He also accused Trump of being an “apologist for Putin” over his stance on Ukraine.

Donald Trump and Queen Elizabeth IITrump has claimed he was one of the late Queen’s ‘favourite presidents’PA

“Keep doing it. You will be seen for what you are”, he said.

“You will be seen for the absolute cretinous individuals that you are. You will be seen for the flunk who has no clothes on.

“What do you think it will do to your political future? To block the most successful politician in the world who is at the helm of the most powerful nation?

“Go back and watch the footage of my boss with the then late, great Queen Elizabeth II. Look at the cheer, look at the spirit.

“Look at the absolute embodiment of the special relationship and tell me British people don’t want that.

“British people, who by the way fought for Brexit in the biggest assertion since the Magna Carta.”

In Osborn’s letter, seen by The Times, she argued: “It is up to our government to decide if they use the state visit to engage with Trump… but that does not translate to giving him the honour of addressing parliament.”

She also warned about “the risk of low attendance” having “negative or unintended consequences.”

Another Labour MP said: “Parliament has nothing to learn from a serial liar, cheat, womaniser and bankrupt. We don’t need Trump to lecture and dictate his unilateral terms to our elected representatives.”

Trump’s second visit is pencilled in for September and would be his second state visit to the UK.

He was personally invited by King Charles via a letter delivered by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The president’s previous trip to Britain in 2019 proved controversial after he was prevented from addressing both parliamentary houses by then-speaker John Bercow.

He met the late Queen and was notably with her for an event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

During the visit Trump has spoken in glowing terms about, Queen Elizabeth II gifted him a valuable copy of a book written in 1959 by former Prime Minister Winston Churchill about World War Two.
