The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommended COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant women in its updated immunization schedule issued Friday, signaling another split between practicing doctors and the nation’s top health official.
Women should get immunized when planning to become pregnant, during pregnancy or when lactating, according to the premier US organization for physicians who specialize in women’s health.
Data shows the vaccines prevent complications for the mother and child, including preterm birth and even still birth, the group said in a statement.
FDA Begins Real-Time Reporting of Adverse Event Data

Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) began daily publication of adverse event data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS). This represents a significant step forward in modernizing the agency’s safety monitoring infrastructure and demonstrates its commitment to radical transparency and real-time protection of public health.
“Adverse event reporting should be fast, seamless and transparent,” said FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H. “People who navigate the government’s clunky adverse event reporting websites should not have to wait months for that information to become public. We’re closing that waiting period and will continue to streamline the process from start to finish.”
FAERS is the FDA’s primary database for collecting and analyzing adverse event reports, serious medication errors, and product quality complaints for prescription drugs and therapeutic biologics, containing reports submitted by healthcare professionals, consumers, and manufacturers.

Dr. Take Naseri, who was the nation’s top health director during the 2019 outbreak, agreed: “The vaccines did not kill the children. It was the measles virus.” Thirty-three days after two Samoan children died in 2018 from a deadly mix of the MMR vaccine and muscle relaxant, an organization Kennedy founded, Children’s Health Defense, paid Facebook to post multiple ads sowing doubt about the vaccines.
At Least 600 CDC Employees Are Getting Final Termination Notices, Union Says

At least 600 employees of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are receiving permanent termination notices in the wake of a recent court decision that protected some CDC employees from layoffs but not others.
The notices went out this week and many people have not yet received them, according to the American Federation of Government Employees, which represents more than 2,000 dues-paying members at CDC.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday did not offer details on the layoffs and referred an AP reporter to a March statement that said restructuring and downsizing were intended to make health agencies more responsive and efficient.
AFGE officials said they are aware of at least 600 CDC employees being cut.
