BREAKING: Would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh writes bizarre legal motion challenging president to round of golf to settle case
“A round of golf with the racist pig, he wins he can execute me, I win I get his job. (sorry hillbilly Vance).”
In a court filing on Tuesday, Ryan Routh, the man charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump in September 2024, suggested the two parties play a round of golf to determine Routh’s fate in the case. Routh laid in wait for Trump at his Florida golf course but was spotted by Secret Service.
Routh wrote, “To present new evidence two weeks before court when it has been almost a year for them to gather all they needed, need I say more- it is absurd. The deadline has passed. If you would like to trade admitting the evidence for my subpoena of that baboon Donald J Trump, bring that idiot on; it is a deal. If you do not want to trade for dumb*ss, then give me all the others on my recent subpoena list, btu [sic] I think a beatdown session would be more fun and entertaining for everyone; give me shackles and cuffs and let the old fat man give it his worst.
“We must beat down crime in Amereica [sic]. Carpet is red, isn’t it, no harm in blood,” Routh continued. “If I am housed at Fort Lucie can it be in a far off, quiet room and can I have access to documents, phone, visitation, email, and maybe a computer and printer, or a fancy typewriter like this one; some female strippers would be great too(model parent): OR perhaps a putting green so I can work on my putting(a golf joke). A round of golf with the racist pig, he wins he can execute me, I win I get his job. (sorry hillbilly Vance).”
The filing comes ahead of Routh’s trial, which is set to begin next week with jury selection. Per NewsNation, opening statements are expected to start on September 11, and the trial is not expected to go past October 3. Routh has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and assaulting a federal officer.
In the lead-up to his trial, Routh has questioned why the death penalty is not on the table for him, and has also proposed being part of a prisoner swap between the US and America’s adversaries. He suggested that he could be swapped for a Ukrainian soldier being held in Russia. Routh is representing himself in the case.
