President Donald Trump and former White House special government employee Elon Musk were seen chatting with one another at the Charlie Kirk memorial in Arizona on Sunday. The two were seen seated next to each other during the memorial service.

“Charlie so badly wanted these two men to come back together. I hope they’re saying to each other, “For Charlie.”” said Andrew Kolvet of Turning Point USA.

Musk said previously he regretted the posts directed at Trump after a public fight that stretched over several days earlier this year.

“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on X.

The back-and-forth between Musk and Trump started after the Tesla and SpaceX chief blasted the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Musk called the legislation, which extended Trump’s 2017 tax cuts and added new priorities, a “disgusting abomination.”

Musk’s clashes with Trump did not stop at the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Just days later, he floated the idea of starting his own political movement, which he called the “America Party.”

“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” Musk posted on X.

The announcement came after he ran a July 4 X poll on the platform asking whether Americans wanted an alternative to both Republicans and Democrats. “Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system! Should we create the America Party?” Musk wrote. More than 1.2 million people voted, with about 65 percent saying yes.

Musk suggested the party could “laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts,” saying that even a small bloc would be enough to tip the balance on close votes. “Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people,” he added.

Musk has not moved forward with the party.
