Andrew Bridgen v. Matt Hancock: “Hancock’s done far too much harm. And he’s the first domino that’s gonna have to fall”

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

On Wednesday, Andrew Bridgen, former Member of the UK Parliament, posted a video giving an update on the court case he filed against Matt Hancock.

The case hasn’t moved forward for a year.  A case management hearing that was scheduled for November 2024 didn’t happen.  The court’s timetable has been “derailed by Hancock’s repeated, vexatious, really, attempts to strike out my claim against him,” Mr. Bridgen said.

Hancock is doing everything he can to stop his case from being heard in front of a judge.  “I’m not gonna let him get away with that. He’s done far too much harm. And he’s the first domino that’s gonna have to fall,” Mr. Bridgen said.

On 11 January 2023, Andrew Bridgen shared a link on Twitter (now X) to an article “concerning data about deaths and other adverse reactions linked to Covid vaccines” and stated: “As one consultant cardiologist said to me, this is the biggest crime against humanity since the Holocaust.”

Matt Hancock (aka Midazolam Matt) was the UK’s Secretary of State for Health and Social Care during the height of the covid hysteria and was responsible for overseeing the UK government’s covid response.   On 11 January 2023, Midazolam Matt described Mr. Bridgen as a “disgusting and dangerous” propagator of antisemitism in the House of Commons. Tweeting a clip of his question to then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the House of Commons, Midazolam Matt highlighted his malicious accusation:

On the same day, Mr. Bridgen had the Conservative Party whip removed.  As The Conservative Woman noted, “In a clearly rehearsed move, Hancock’s statements were immediately acclaimed by the Prime Minister and Bridgen was suspended from the criminal mafia popularly known as the Conservative Party.”

The next day, Mr. Bridgen issued a video statement expressing his disappointment that he had been suspended from the Conservative Party but that he remained resolute. “Reasonable questions about the safety and effectiveness of mRNA vaccines must continue to be asked. And I will continue to ask them. If I cannot do that as a Conservative Member of Parliament, then so be it,” he said.

Mr. Bridgen denied the comment was “racist” or “anti-Semitic” and said he would be “speaking to a legal team who will commence action against those who have led the call suggesting that I am.”

On 13 January 2023, Mr Bridgen tweeted: “Matt Hancock has still not removed his defamatory tweet falsely alleging that I am antisemitic. I will allow Matt three days to apologise publicly for calling me an antisemite and racist or he will be contacted by my legal team.”

Midazolam Matt didn’t apologise. So, Mr. Bridgen began libel proceedings to sue him for £100,000.  On 26 January, Mr. Bridgen confirmed that Hancock had received a letter before action. According to the seven-page letter before action, Mr. Bridgen wanted Hancock to “retract and delete the defamatory statement contained in the tweet complained of with immediate effect.”  The letter said he should “apologise for the tweet complained of – both orally in the House of Commons – and in writing on Mr. Hancock’s personal Twitter account.”

Midazolam Matt has attempted to have the libel case against him thrown out. For example, he claimed that he had not identified Mr. Bridgen in his tweet so the case should not go ahead. But in March 2024, a High Court judge threw out Hancock’s bid to “strike out” the claim.

As Mr. Bridgen notes in his latest update on the case, there have been repeated attempts by Hancock to strike out his claim.

On Wednesday, Mr. Bridgen posted the video update below about his case against Hancock on Twitter.  He said:

So, Matt Hancock is trying to buy more time in my defamation case against him. He’s exhausted the High Court of appeals, and now he’s applying to the Court of Appeals. This is going to add further expense to the case and further delay to the case, but that’s what he wants.

Matt Hancock is absolutely determined that he will only be in the witness box, being cross-examined under oath for his actions during the covid pandemic and his defamation of me – he’ll only be in that witness box if we drag him kicking and screaming.  And he will go to any expense and to any lengths to avoid being placed in that position.

My court case against him has now been going on for well over two years, and given all his attempts to strike out my claim repeatedly, which have failed, we haven’t actually moved forward in the last twelve months.

I’m still waiting for a CMC, a case management hearing, to move the case forward to final hearing, something we actually had in the diary last November, but which a timetable of the court which has been derailed by Hancock’s repeated, vexatious, really, attempts to strike out my claim against him to avoid being in court and having to answer questions under oath.

If he had nothing to hide, he wouldn’t mind airing the case and having it heard in front of a judge in full. But he doesn’t want to, and that speaks volumes. I’m not gonna let him get away with that. He’s done far too much harm. And he’s the first domino that’s gonna have to fall.

Thank you very much for listening to me.

While previously it was a hobby culminating in writing articles for Wikipedia (until things made a drastic and undeniable turn in 2020) and a few books for private consumption, since March 2020 I have become a full-time researcher and writer in reaction to the global takeover that came into full view with the introduction of covid-19. For most of my life, I have tried to raise awareness that a small group of people planned to take over the world for their own benefit. There was no way I was going to sit back quietly and simply let them do it once they made their final move.
