Devereux died after collapsing during the Great Bristol Run in South West England.
He dropped dead during the 13.1-mile running event on Sunday.
The young athlete was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
However, doctors were unable to resuscitate him, and he was confirmed dead.
Devereux’s next of kin were informed, and event organisers confirmed his cause of death was being investigated.
While no official cause of death has been revealed, his rugby team paid tribute and suggested he suffered a heart attack.
