DOJ launches investigation into Portland Antifa assault on Katie Daviscourt
In response to the incident, the DOJ Rapid Response account on X acknowledged the report and wrote, “Investigation has been launched.”
The Department of Justice confirmed it has launched an investigation after The Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt was assaulted by an antifa mob while covering an anti-ICE “May Day” riot in Portland.
Daviscourt posted footage over the weekend showing the incident, where a mob assaulted her and threw a rock at her face while she was reporting outside a Portland ICE facility.
“It’s impossible for me to do my job down at the Portland ICE facility, even with security. I was violently mobbed out by Antifa, and a suspect in black bloc threw a rock at my face. I have zero desire to discuss this further, but everyone is tired of it and wondering why a crackdown on Antifa — a terrorist organization—has not yet occurred,” she wrote on X.
In the footage shared online, Daviscourt is seen being confronted by multiple protesters. A woman can be heard yelling that she “likes pedophiles,” and a man said, “My wife’s been waiting for you.” Moments later, a crowd surrounded her as she continued filming, and one individual appeared to throw a rock that struck her in the face.
After being hit, several individuals appeared to chase Daviscourt, forcing her to run and seek assistance from nearby police.
The riot was part of the “May Day” protest, where left-wing demonstrators gathered to protest President Donald Trump. Following the assault, Daviscourt wrote on X, “There needs to be a policy that if federal police observe individuals outside the facility in black bloc, or more than 2 of them in bloc, then the protest gets shut down. Antifa has free rein in Portland.”
In response to the incident, the DOJ Rapid Response account on X acknowledged the report and wrote, “Investigation has been launched.”
