Islamic Centre names wing after King Charles to honour him

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

King Charles III visited the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies to mark its 40th anniversary and opened the newly designated King Charles III Wing, which was named in his honour.

The king’s actions once again raise concerns about his beliefs, his commitment to the Christian faith and recognition of Christianity as the state religion.

The British monarch is required by law to be a Protestant and defend the Christian faith.  If Charles III is not a Protestant, then he is an illegitimate king and Parliament should use its powers to remove him.

What Has Charles Done Now

King Charles visited the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies on Thursday to mark its 40th anniversary and officially opened the newly designated King Charles III Wing.

The newly opened wing of the centre, named in honour of the monarch, will host the King Charles III Programme focused on leadership, research and sustainability.

The King Charles III Programme is an initiative launched during the event, aiming to foster Islamic leadership and research on contemporary issues, including environmental discussions and scholarships.

“The King has a history with co-founder of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, Dr Farhan Ahmad Nizami, as they first met when the king visited in 1993,” itvX said.

“The British monarch has served as its patron since 1993,” The National Pulse said.

Speaking in 1993, then Prince Charles said, “If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world.”  If there is anything to substantiate this claim, we would like to hear it, because our own culture and civilisation are founded and built on the Christian faith.

Since becoming Britain’s monarch, King Charles has shown a fondness for Islam, including handing out treats during Ramadan earlier this year. At the same time, Islamic relief banners calling on people to “Trust in Allah” went up in London, The National Pulse said.

itvX noted, “The ‘King Charles III Programme’, a new initiative to consolidate key activities inspired by his beliefs.”  And the BBC quoted Charles “The Great Reset” King as saying, “I think the very presence of the centre is a statement of inter-faith.”

“Consolidate key activities inspired by his beliefs.”  What does that mean? What beliefs?  And why does it matter to all of us what Charles III’s beliefs are?

By Law, the Monarch Must be a Protestant

As we have written before, the monarch holds the title of Defender of the Faith.  Such is the commitment that it is represented on all current British coins by the abbreviation FD, which stands for the original Latin phrase Fidei Defensor (male) or Fidei Defensatrix (female) that has been on British coins since 1714.

The official coin effigy of Britains King Charles III is seen on a 50 pence coin  The inscription reads CHARLES III D G REX FD  The FD in the inscription stands for Fidei Defensor which translates to Defender of the Faith

The inscription on British coins serves as a constant reminder that the UK is a Christian country.  Why? “The Faith” is Christianity; it is not “inter-faith,” Islam, or even Catholic.  To this end, the Act of Settlement (1700) stipulates that only a Protestant can ascend to the throne.

The UK government website states: “The Act of Settlement was passed in 1701, reinforcing the Bill of Rights agreed by William and Mary in 1689.  The main aim of this legislation was to ensure a Protestant succession to the English throne.  In 1707, as a result of the Act of Union, this Act was extended to Scotland.”

The Royal Family website attempts to underplay that a monarch must be a Protestant by only referring to Roman Catholics.  The UK’s constitution, customs, values and laws are based on the Christian faith. So, every citizen is aware of what the Royal Family is glossing over on its ‘Act of Settlement’ webpage: only a Protestant can be monarch.

If Charles III is not a Protestant, then he should never have been permitted to ascend to the throne.  And if it is found that he is not a Protestant after his accession, then the crown must be taken from him. Who permits a person to become monarch and can deprive a monarch of his/her title?  Parliament. The Royal Family’s website makes this clear:

The succession to the throne is regulated not only through descent, but also by Parliamentary statute.

The basis for the succession was determined in the constitutional developments of the seventeenth century, which culminated in the Bill of Rights (1689) and the Act of Settlement (1701).

[In 1688 it] came to be established not only that the Sovereign rules through Parliament, but that the succession to the throne can be regulated by Parliament, and that a Sovereign can be deprived of his/her title through misgovernment. The Act of Settlement confirmed that it was for Parliament to determine the title to the throne.

The Act laid down that only Protestant descendants … are eligible to succeed. Subsequent Acts have confirmed this.

The Sovereign must, in addition, be in communion with the Church of England and must swear to preserve the established Church of England and the established Church of Scotland. The Sovereign must also promise to uphold the Protestant succession.

LSE Religion and Global Society blog correctly noted in the lead up to Charles’ coronation that as the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, he is expected to uphold the Protestant Reformed Religion and the Church of England as the state religion, a role that dates back to the Reformation during the rule of King Henry VIII.

Is King Charles III a Protestant?

If you conduct an internet search to try to ascertain what Charles III’s religion is, you’re likely to get the response along the lines, “King Charles III is a committed Anglican Christian.” Put another way, a committed Protestant.  As the crown on his head is dependent on this statement being true, it’s hardly surprising. But is it true?

The European Academy of Religion and Society published an article in 2022 to examine Charles III’s relationship with religion.  It said:

Ian Bradley, professor emeritus at the University of St. Andrews said that whereas Queen Elizabeth II “was very explicit about her Christian faith … Charles’s is of a different nature … his is more spiritual and intellectual. Charles is more of a ‘spiritual seeker’.”

However, in Charles’s first speech as king following the death of his mother, he said that he is “a committed Anglican Christian, and at my coronation I will take an oath relating to the settlement of the Church of England.” He added that “as a member of the Church of England, my Christian beliefs have love at their very heart.” This public statement of a strong personal Christian faith will have helped to dispel some concerns over the king’s religious commitment.

Spirituality over dogma? King Charles III’s relationship with religion, European Academy of Religion and Society, 25 October 2022

How easily some people are fooled.  The article goes on to defend the controversy Charles III caused when attempting to become the defender of all faiths:

The king has often expressed an interest in and support for all forms of belief. This position was made clear in a 1994 documentary when Charles stated that he was more a “defender of faith” than “the faith.” He has later clarified his statement, explaining that as a British monarch, you can also “be a protector of faiths,” something that the king is keen to prove.

In particular, Charles has shown interest in the Islamic and Jewish communities in the UK. The king is known to have been a very close friend to the late Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks … Moreover, in regards to Islam, the king has openly insisted that Islam as a religion can “teach us today a way of understanding and living in the world which Christianity itself is the poorer for having lost.”

In 2007, as Prince of Wales, Charles founded Mosaic, an organisation which provides mentoring programmes for young Muslims across the UK. Furthermore, Zara Mohammed, current head of the Muslim Council of Britain, says that the organisation “regards him as a friend of British Muslims.”

He has shown a broad interest in inter-faith dialogue and has expressed respect for other religions, including Islam and aspects of Eastern Orthodox Christianity, according to The Guardian.

The common thread, when it comes to Charles III’s interest in “interfaith dialogue,” seems to be Islam.  To add fuel to this fire, in 1996, the late Nazim Al-Haqqani said, “Did you know that Prince Charles has converted to Islam. Yes, yes. He is a Muslim. I can’t say more. But it happened in Turkey. Oh, yes, he converted all right. When you get home, check on how often he travels to Turkey. You’ll find that your future king is a Muslim.”

Nazim Al-Haqqani, also known as Shaykh Nazim, was the grand mufti of Cyprus and belonged to the Naqshbandi Sufi order, an Islamic mystic brotherhood.  He was recognised among the world’s fifty most influential Muslims in the annual publication ‘The 500 Most Influential Muslims’ and was ranked 42nd in the 2013/2014 edition.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman denied then-Prince Charles’s conversion to Islam as “nonsense.”  Was Al-Haqqani telling the truth, and the Palace spokesman merely defending Charles’ eligibility for succession to the throne?  Considering Charles III’s leaning towards all things Islamic, it’s a distinct possibility.

Attack on the UK Constitution

Suppose Charles is indeed a Muslim and is using his position to instil Islam above the Christian faith in the UK. In that case, we are potentially witnessing an illegitimate monarch of 15 Realms [1], not only undermining but also attacking the UK constitution.

If this were to be proved, and we were hoping Parliament would exercise its powers to deprive Charles III of his title, then we would have to rely on Members of Parliament circumventing Kier Starmer’s government, who is also showing indications of attacking the UK constitution.

UK Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood, a Muslim of Pakistani descent, has been considering scrapping jury trials. To this aim, Sir Brian Leveson was tasked with reviewing ways to scale back defendants’ rights to jury trials.

Magna Carta, considered as one of the most important documents that make up the UK constitution, guarantees everyone in the UK the right to judgment by a jury of his/her peers.  As former succession lawyer Clare Wills Harrison said, juryless trials are a threat to individual rights, the rule of law and the UK’s constitution.

In another instance, last year, Stamer refused to rule it out after being asked to introduce blasphemy laws by the Labour Member of Parliament for Birmingham, Tahir Ali, who is a Muslim of Pakistani descent.

According to a report to the UK’s Commission for Countering Extremism, anti-blasphemy activism in the UK is being driven by Muslim extremists from Pakistan; in other words, Pakistani Islamists.

It seems we are getting strong indications that Stamer and his government are also seeking to subvert the UK constitution. Instead of Parliament and King Charles III keeping each other in check, they are collaborating and conspiring against British citizens.  We need to start waking up to what Charles III and Starmer are doing, and fast.

The separation of powers is a fundamental principle in UK governance that divides the functions of a government into distinct branches to prevent the concentration of power and ensure accountability. The three branches are the legislative, executive, and judicial, each with its own responsibilities and powers.

The executive branch is composed of the government, led by the Prime Minister, who is the head of government, and the Monarch, who is the head of state.  The legislative branch is Parliament and consists of two houses: the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

The executive and legislative branches are closely linked, as the Prime Minister is both the head of the executive and the leader of the majority party in the legislature, which can lead to challenges in maintaining checks and balances.

The judicial branch is independent of the executive and legislative branches.  It is responsible for interpreting and applying the law.  But in this, we have seen what seems to be collaboration with Starmer’s government.

The two-tier justice endorsed by Starmer following the murders in Southport – earning him the nickname “Two-Tier Keir” – and two-tier sentencing guidelines proposed, but averted, by the Sentencing Council, demonstrate that the third branch of government is also subverting the UK constitution.

The final frontier to protect our constitution is the people, the free men of the Realm.  One of the actions people can take is through jury trials.

In 2016, Justin Walker warned that the government and other powerful entities were exerting control over people’s lives through surveillance and statutes.  He spoke of perhaps hundreds of statutes passed by Parliament and received royal assent which are designed to control our lives.  The remedy, he said, is to restore the right of jury to every trial.

“If somebody is tried because they have breached a statute, or whatever, it may be that the jury says, ‘Well, hang on a moment, we believe unanimously, we believe that this statute is unjust, we will find the individual not guilty. And in doing so, we annul the effectiveness of that statute’. In other words, what we’re talking about is that a jury is the ultimate defence and shield against tyranny,” he said.

“No free man shall be seized, imprisoned, dispossessed, outlawed, exiled or ruined in any way, nor in any way proceeded against, except by the lawful judgement of his peers and the law of the land.”—Magna Carta, clause 39

While previously it was a hobby culminating in writing articles for Wikipedia (until things made a drastic and undeniable turn in 2020) and a few books for private consumption, since March 2020 I have become a full-time researcher and writer in reaction to the global takeover that came into full view with the introduction of covid-19. For most of my life, I have tried to raise awareness that a small group of people planned to take over the world for their own benefit. There was no way I was going to sit back quietly and simply let them do it once they made their final move.
