Please Give Generously to Keep the Daily Sceptic Afloat

We don’t often make pleas for donations on the Daily Sceptic, but every six months or so we ask readers to dip into their pockets to help keep the show on the road.
As regular readers will know, donations from readers are more or less our only source of revenue. Yes, we still average about 1.5 million page views a month, which, as Guido Fawkes pointed out, is more than the New Statesman, the Morning Star and Novara Media combined. But thanks to the efforts of the censorship-industrial complex to deplatform any news publishing site that challenges progressive orthodoxy on subjects like Net Zero, multiculturalism and the COVID-19 vaccines, the Daily Sceptic struggles to attract any advertising. For chapter and verse on how sites like ours are being demonetised, read Will Jones on our most recent engagement with NewsGuard here.
Donald Trump appointed Brendan Carr, a vocal critic of censorship, as head of the Federal Communications Commission in January and, according to the President, he’s a “warrior for free speech”. Let’s hope he can dismantle the censorship-industrial complex, but in the meantime we need your help. You can make a donation here.
Last year, we introduced some perks to encourage people to become regular donors, and if you donate a minimum of £5 a month or £50 a year, you can access these benefits:
- You’ll be able to read the additional articles behind our paywall
- You’ll receive those paywalled articles in the daily email newsletter
- You’ll be able to watch or listen to the premium version of the Sceptic, our weekly podcast
- You’ll be able to comment below the line on all our articles
Instructions on how to access these perks once you’ve made a donation of at least £5/month or £50/year can be found on our Premium page, which you can find here.
We desperately need your help. The annual turnover of Skeptics Limited, the company that owns the Daily Sceptic, increased to over £225,000 in 2024-25, a 15% increase on 2023-24. But because we now have four employees, two of them full time, and have started to pay our regular contributors more generously, we made a loss. So please do make a donation or become a recurring donor.
To help increase our revenue, we’ve launched a Substack called the Climate Skeptic that will republish all the content on this site written by our team of climate contrarians – Chris Morrison, Dr Tilak Doshi and Ben Pile – and provide subscribers with a daily news round-up dedicated to all things climate-related. You can find that new site – and subscribe to it – here. Becoming a premium subscriber to the Climate Skeptic is another way of supporting our work since all the revenue will flow into Skeptics Ltd, but if you’re a recurring donor to the Daily Sceptic you’ll already have access to the paywalled articles by our climate team on the Daily Sceptic.
Another reason we’re launching the Climate Skeptic is because we want to increase the audience for our reporting on this subject, particularly internationally. Visit the About page to read why we think climate scepticism has never been more urgently needed.
So, if you value what we do, please think about making a donation to the Daily Sceptic this summer. We’re only able to continue producing such high-quality journalism by employing four members of staff – Will Jones, Richard Eldred, Laurie Wastell and me – and by paying a stable of regular contributors, including Ben Pile, Tilak Doshi, Charlotte Gill, Noah Carl, Steven Tucker, Ian Rons, James Alexander and Paul Homewood. And we can’t continue to pay anyone without the generous support of our readers. Remember, just £5/month or £50/year will enable you to access our full range of perks, as well as support our work.
A big thank you to all those people who’ve donated already this year, particularly those who’ve set up recurring monthly donations – and thanks to those who regularly post below the line. It’s hugely appreciated.
